How do i manage public folders with Hyena ?
Can't find anywhere any option to add them.

We plan to try Exchange public folder support in v6.0 (beta), but only for Exchange 2000 through Active Directory. Other than viewing them, the only function we can really offer is the standard MMC properties dialog for them.

Is it possible to intergrate the MMC properties to Hyena.
When will version 6 be released ?

Yes, we will display the MMC property page for AD publicfolder objects. We don't have a release date for v6.0 yet, but if you want to join the beta group, send a blank email to [email protected]; the next beta of v6.0 should be available next week.

I'm writing a paper which compares some tools we wanted to use in our production environment, i don't think they will use a beta version for it.

But i could test it in the test environment, so we could use it in the feature, right now there is no tool which give us all our wishes.
So i think we will be using the standard MS tools which meets the most of our whiches.

An other option we are searching for is searching for NTFS permissions which are set on a local group.
And see within a global group all the local groups which are connected to it, there is a tool from the ms resource kit which can do it.

I will subscribe to the beta program.

I'm using v6.6 and I don't see any support for Public Folders

I guess this is just a reminder that ppl still would like the ability manipulate and even create new public folders through Hyena.

Where are you looking for the public folders ? I think they are located under the System container in AD. From there, you can access the Properties of a public folder.

I will investigate if Microsoft supports adding public folders outside of its own tools.

just an FYI, are exchange person heard from MS while trouble shooting a public folders issue. That they were no longer supporting or working on upgrading public folders. That it was replaced by sharepoint.

Not trying to discourage you, just though I would throw that out there.

The way I read this is Public folders should be around at least until 2016.
