  • Change the LegacyExchangeDN attribute

Is there any way Hyena can update the LegacyExchangeDN attribute for user accounts? Right now I have to run ADSI Edit to change some values from upper case letters to lower case letters, and it's a very tedious process. Backup Exec apparently won't recognize mailboxes with capital letters in this attribute. For example (/O=Mckenna/OU=hospital/etc..)
    needs to be
    (/o=Mckenna/ou=hospital/etc..)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Re: Change the LegacyExchangeDN attribute

Try adding this under File->Manage Object View->Custom. Change the Directory Object Type to Active Directory User, then click New to add in your field.

Once you do this, you'll get a new tab on users' property pages called Custom. You can view and modify it there.

That's great. Now that attribute is available for view in my queries setup. Life is much easier now, thank you so much!

        Hello folks,
I'm trying to do similar with AdminCount attribute. I can get the custom attribute to appear on a tabular view of user accounts as instucted above, but don't get the new custom tab or any way of editing the field when I view the properties of the account.
        Many thanks

Go to Tools->Settings->Active Directory and make sure you don't have the box checked to Show shell property pages by default for user objects.
