When I create a new user I get the error, "Unable to access Exchange 2000 mailbox interface.Verify that the Exchange 2000 admin tools are installed on this workstation." Anyone know why this means? I can look at exchange properties from previously created users. I am running XP.

Re: Admin tools?
The problem is that the Exchange 2000 admin tools won't install without the Windows 2000 tools being installed. This problem only applies when managing Exchange 2000 from a Windows XP computer.
Here is a workaround for this:
- First, the Windows 2000 admin pack must be installed on the Windows XP
client computer. This will display several warning messages which can be
ignored
- Next, the Exchange 2000 admin tools can be installed on the Windows XP
client computer (from the Exchange 2000 CD).
- Then, uninstall the Windows 2000 admin pack tools from step #1
- Finally, the Windows .NET Server (latest beta or release code) admin pack
must be installed on the client Windows XP computer

This was an old posting but what is the new Exchange Server 2003 equivalent? I'm trying to get admin functionality running locally.
TIA,
