When you make a new user for NT4 with Exchange integration the directory name generated into the Exchange isn't formed according to the registry entries that Exch. Admin uses when run directly, ANGAutoTextFormat & DNGAutoTextFormat. The ANG (Alias NAme Generation) also determines the directory name. A solution would be to pull the first and last names out of the new acct Full Name (Last, First or without a comma First Last). Better would be to make the acct creation dialog box ask the First & Last names and then use the reg entries. ANy way around this in the current version until it is fixed?

Re: default exchange directory name for new acct
Yes... This is something I would be interested as well. I'm experiancing the same thing here, add'ly we use the desc. field in the user account for department name (which is fairly common practice I think). I'm thinking if the process could be reversed it would work famously.
Namely, use an exchange type interface to populate exchange and the user account. Create the new user creatation fields with the vars %fname% %lname% %phone% and %dept%.
This way the "Username" filed could be generated by "%finital%%lname%". "Full name" filled with "%lname%, %fname%". "Desc" filled with "%dept%". And finally those vars could be passed into exchange which, it could then use own scripting for alias and smtp account generation. Plus it would add the Dept and ext to exchange and the existing template intergration could take care of the rest (addresses and such.)
Ooohhh I'm drooling at the thought. It would be a true one stop shop.
Just a thought.
