  • Exchange & Distribution Lists

In our environment we have quite a few Exchange servers and users can be members of distribution lists from any one of those servers. What I need to be able to do is this:
When I delete a user, I need to have that account automatically removed from all the distribution lists without having to log on to each of the Exchange servers. Is there any way to accompish this?

    Many thanks.

    Re: Exchange & Distribution Lists

Are you using Exchange 5.5 or Exchange 2000 ?

Hyena does not have any capability of "cleaning up" anything when deleting a user. We are anticipating adding some home directory and share cleanup options, but never considered this. But, are you sure that this is necessary ? (Note that I am not an Exchange expert by no means...)

When a user is deleted from NT, their group memberships and file security setting still remain, but become sort of "orphaned". Applications like Hyena have to ignore them when presenting group membership listings. In fact, if you display a group listing and usually click OK, most Microsoft software cleans them out. So you never really see the deleted members.

I would think that distribution lists act the same way. What am I missing ?
