  • %E% full path ou?

I need to find a way to get the full ou path to the current object I am viewing.

    For example:

    domain
    State ou
    City ou
    Desktop name

When I run an external tool I want to know that the desktop name I am looking at is at domain>State>City, not just City. Does that make sense?

    Thanks in advance!

What you can experiment with is go to File->Manage Object View->AD Queries. Change the Query Type to Container/OU, then click on the first Container/OU (Summary) query. In the window in the lower right find and click on DN, then click the Add button to move it to the left. Click OK to save the change.

Navigate to the OU that contains these objects and double-click on it. In the right window you'll see a new column with the path for each object.

To access this data in your Custom Tool, use %C1% with the number being the number of the column from left to right.
